 Approved by State Development Planning Commission in 1997, Hainan Jinhai Pulp & Paper Industry Co., Ltd. was put into production in November 2004. The company is located at Yangpu Economic Development Zone, Hainan Province, with an area of 4 square kilometers. The company is the 13th super-scale pulp & paper enterprise invested and constructed by Sinar Mas Group-APP in China. With over 1600 employees, the first phase project involves an investment of RMB 10.2 billion and an annual production of one million tons of Dragon chemical sulphate bleached eucalyptus kraft pulp.
In its first phase, Jinhai implemented a single pulp line that is considered super in scale and the most advanced technologies in the world. Adopting high-quality advanced techniques with all production and control equipments provided by world-known professional manufacturers, Jinhai is at the forefront of the pulp and paper industry worldwide today.
Under the management philosophy of Afforestation to Benefit Mother Nature, Pulp and Paper Innovation to Benefit Mankind, Jinhai Pulp & Paper realizes its economic, social and ecological contribution simultaneously by cultivating paper plantations, environmentally friendly production of pulp and paper. The raw materials for pulp and paper are created from fast-growing and fertile plantations. To begin its production, Jinhai Pulp & Paper purchased wood and wood chips from Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi and imported wood chips from abroad. Jinhai Pulp & Paper is committed to prohibit any purchase of wood from virgin forests and requires the pulp factory to remove wood that comes from tropic forests with high protection value, eliminating them from its wood supply chain.
Jinhai Pulp & Paper has invested RMB 2.4 billion in pollution treatment to ensure the effective recycling of most of the offal during production. Besides the comprehensive utilization of offal in the recycle production flow, the company also purchased advanced equipments for three wastes treatment and introduced advance techniques for pollution control. Jinhai ensures that all of its emissions will reach or excel the Class I of Nation Discharge Standard by strict management of its daily production. In Feb 2006, Jinhai has passed ISO14001. |
